Canan Kozmetik was established in İstanbul by its founders Necati Akyazıcı and Hasan Bulut in 1981 with 100% local capital for manufacturing hair care products.
Short after introducing its shampoo products under the brand name ‘’İpek’’, Canan Kozmetik became market leader in Turkey shampoo market.
In 1993, Canan Kozmetik moved its production to a 5000m2 plant in Merter. By year 1988, in accordance with market demands and consumer needs, Canan Kozmetik emphasized more on Research & Development , expanded its product portfolio by developing new products other than shampoos.
Canan Kozmetik currently produces shampoo, baby shampoo, hair conditioner, hair gel, liquid soap, shower gel, hand and body cream and lotion and wet wipes under the brand name ‘’İpek’’ and nail polish remover under the brand name ‘’Parmex’’.
The company also tall manufactures some international cosmetic brands.
Upgrading its production technologies and renewing its packaging designs, Canan Kozmetik moved to a larger facility by the end of 2004, located in Kıraç Büyükçekmece, with 20.000 m2 area and 40,000 tons annual production capacity.
Plastic packaging of Canan Kozmetik products are being produced by the affiliate company Seda Plastik, where only environmentally friendly recyclable materials are being used.
To become a leader company in the region, as well as in Turkey, Canan Kozmetik is also actively spreading in foreign markets. 30% of company sales are being generated from exports.
Being the leader shampoo and hair conditioner producer in Turkey, this sucess is also achieved in the Middle East Region as well. In liquid soap and shower gel ‘‘İpek’’ is among the market leaders in Turkey by continuously increasing its market share in both locally and in export countries.
